Business Analyst

Location: London (hybrid)

Engagement Type: Consulting assignment

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, delivery-focused Business Analyst to join our Change and Transformation practice here at Albany Beck. This role is centred around improving and stabilising existing systems and processes before evolving into broader project-based BA delivery work.

Initially, the focus will be on “hygiene” activities within a largely manual and fragmented environment, requiring someone who can quickly bring structure, clarity, and practical improvements. The successful individual will be highly delivery-oriented, comfortable working in ambiguity, and able to take ownership of problems without close direction. As the role progresses, it will transition into supporting more formal change initiatives and project delivery work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess existing systems and processes across the business area
  • Document current (“as-is”) processes and identify gaps and inefficiencies
  • Conduct gap analysis and highlight opportunities for improvement
  • Support re-engineering of manual and clunky processes to improve efficiency
  • Define and help embed best practice ways of working across teams
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into clear, usable documentation
  • Support the transition from initial hygiene-focused activities into structured BA delivery work
  • Contribute to agile and product-led ways of working where applicable
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement, including automation and efficiency gains (e.g. use of AI tools where appropriate)

Key Experience

  • 5–7 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in a delivery-focused role
  • Strong experience working in ambiguous or unstructured environments
  • Proven background in process documentation, gap analysis, and operational improvement
  • Experience working in agile or product-led delivery environments
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work independently
  • Insurance or financial services experience is beneficial but not essential
  • Comfortable working with manual, legacy, or inefficient processes
  • Strong “get things done” mindset with a focus on practical delivery and outcomes
