We are currently seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer with a strong DevSecOps background to support one of our global financial services clients, based in London. This role will focus on developing secure, automated, and scalable infrastructure solutions within Microsoft Azure.

Role Overview

The Azure Cloud Engineer will play a key role in designing and implementing secure Azure environments to support our clients global technology operations. This position requires deep expertise in infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native security practices. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the financial services sector and a solid understanding of compliance requirements within the cloud ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable Azure cloud infrastructure in alignment with enterprise architecture and security policies.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for consistent and repeatable cloud deployments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with integrated DevSecOps tools to automate both application and infrastructure deployments.
• Integrate security capabilities such as vulnerability scanning, static code analysis, and secrets management into the development lifecycle.
• Work closely with development, architecture, and cybersecurity teams to ensure security and compliance are embedded into all cloud solutions.
• Support containerisation efforts using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Docker.
• Monitor cloud environments using tools such as Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Assist with incident response and perform root cause analysis related to cloud infrastructure or security incidents.
• Ensure cloud governance and compliance with regulatory frameworks including APRA CPS 234, FCA, and ISO 27001.

Key Skills and Experience

• 6+ years of experience in cloud engineering and DevOps, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Advanced proficiency in Terraform for managing Azure infrastructure at scale.
• Demonstrated experience in the banking or financial services industry, with a strong understanding of security and regulatory requirements.
• Strong knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including secure CI/CD, vulnerability management, and secrets management.
• Experience in container orchestration using AKS and containerisation with Docker.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• In-depth understanding of cloud security, including identity and access management (Azure AD) and key management solutions.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Relevant certifications (AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-500, or Terraform Associate) are highly desirable.

Desirable Skills

• Experience working within hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
• Background supporting trading or investment management systems.
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps delivery methodologies.
