Albany Beck are seeking an AVP – Operational Risk & Resilience to join our team on-site with one of our global banking partners.

This is a senior role where you will play a key part in enhancing the bank’s operational risk management and resilience capabilities in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.

The Role

As an AVP, you will contribute to the success of the UK enterprise risk function, ensuring operational risk frameworks are implemented effectively and resilience standards are maintained. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to provide oversight, independent challenge, and thought leadership across operational risk and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Risk

• Implement and support the Operational Risk Management framework.
• Provide independent challenge on risk assessments, scenario analysis, KRIs, and new initiatives.
• Review and escalate operational risk events and acceptances.
• Develop and present operational risk reports for senior committees.
• Support the enhancement of risk tools, methodologies, and appetite statements.
• Act as a trusted second line contact for business teams.
• Stay current with industry developments through participation in external forums.

Operational Resilience

• Ensure local methodologies and procedures remain aligned with regulatory expectations and best practice.
• Support the adoption of enterprise-wide resilience frameworks.
• Lead independent challenge on resilience self-assessments, including service mapping, impact tolerances, and scenario testing.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of resilience scenario libraries.
• Monitor emerging risks and industry trends, providing strategic insights.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years’ experience in financial services, with strong knowledge of risk management, operational resilience, audit, or capital markets.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with confidence in presenting to senior committees.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio). Experience with IBM OpenPages is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt quickly to change, and work independently.
