We're hiring for a Head of Business Development in East Kilbride (Onsite with flex) for a full-time position of 35 hours per week. We’re looking for a Head of Business Development who's commercially driven, relationship-focused, and excited to play a leading role in shaping our growth story. This is a unique opportunity to join a start-up environment at a senior level. You'll lead our business development efforts, driving new lending opportunities while building and leading a high-performing team across our key markets.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the Bank's business development strategy, driving sustainable lending growth
  • Originate high-quality lending opportunities while leading and developing a high-performing team
  • Build and nurture relationships with brokers, introducers, and key customers
  • Act as a senior ambassador for Alba, enhancing our market presence and brand
  • Work closely with Credit, Risk, Product, and Operations to deliver strong, customer-focused outcomes
  • Identify new markets, partnerships, and growth opportunities
  • Be a role model leader of our Alba Values and the Alba ways of working

What you'll bring:

  • Significant experience in financial services, ideally in commercial lending
  • Proven track record of delivering new business growth and building strategic partnerships
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to inspire and develop teams
  • Commercial acumen, sound judgement, and a results-driven mindset
  • A hands-on, proactive approach with a 'can do' attitude
  • Resilience under pressure and ability to multi-task
  • Advanced Microsoft skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience of nCino Lending Platform
