Description
Alaska Northstar Resources is seeking a SharePoint Developer to join their team on a long-term project. The SharePoint Developer plans, designs, develops, and supports sites using SharePoint development platforms/technologies. They will provide support for systems programming, web server (IIS) administration, web server vulnerability assessment and mitigation, custom application support, Active Directory account and group policy management. Duties are to support the Defense Centers For Public Health – Aberdeen (DCPH-A) customer located at APG (Edgewood)
The SharePoint Developer will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Design, implement, and secure SharePoint environments (intranet, extranet, internet) across development, test, and production landscapes to support the DCPH-A mission.
- Provide expert guidance and technical recommendations utilizing SharePoint Server, SharePoint Designer, and Visual Studio.
- Develop and deploy custom, internet-facing websites using the SharePoint Web Content Management platform.
- Offer support across multiple areas including systems programming, IIS administration, vulnerability remediation, custom application support, and Active Directory (accounts and group policies).
- Use the GSC ticketing system to manage and resolve assigned support tickets efficiently.
- Collaborate with the Information Management Division’s Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure project alignment and success.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot application issues, determining root causes (e.g., software defects or user error), and provide practical solutions.
- Work independently with users to identify and resolve problems through corrective actions.
- Address and resolve all known software defects before user acceptance testing.
- Keep projects on track by meeting deadlines, coordinating testing, documentation, training, and maintaining communication with stakeholders and management.
- Implement cybersecurity best practices and ensure compliance with STIGs, OPORDs, and VDPs.
- Continuously assess and recommend improvements to existing procedures and workflows.
Requirements
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
Candidate must have an active DoD Secret Security clearance (or higher)
Candidate must have an active IAT Level II certification
Candidate must have at least one of the following certifications: Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) or Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) or Obtain MS Certified: Power Platform App Maker Associate within 60 days of hire date.
Candidate must have at least 3 years of experience with the following:
- SharePoint development with emphasis on full range of SharePoint solution development, deployment and administration.
- Coding with Visual Studio, C#, and ASP.net
- SharePoint On-Premises and InfoPath, as we currently use in this environment (no Power Apps or SharePoint Online)
- Extensive Microsoft based server support, application support, and thorough understanding of cybersecurity requirements and remediation technique
- Analyzing, determining source, and solving problems (e.g. application issues or user error)
- Independently working with users to identify and resolve application issues by corrective actions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Customer-oriented and cool-tempered

- PowerShell Scriptingand developing/maintaining scripts to automate functionality
Office environment. Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100%). Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client (100%). Occasional business travel may be required. Only requested and approved expenses will be covered by ANR.
