Overview: We’re recruiting on behalf of a £100M engineering group with 18 autonomous business units spanning rotating machinery, electrical contracting, and utilities. This is a strategic, hands-on opportunity for a commercially minded professional to lead and embed best practice across a diverse and growing organisation. The Role: As Senior QS / Commercial Manager, you’ll be the group’s go-to expert for interpreting contracts, reducing risk, and embedding commercial discipline. You’ll work closely with business unit leaders to: * Advise on contract interpretation and commercial decision-making * Identify and mitigate risk exposure * Develop and implement commercial processes * Coach teams to improve strategic thinking and commercial awareness This is not a traditional QS role—it’s focused on influence, education, and improvement, not pricing or valuations. What We’re Looking For: * Strong understanding of contract law and commercial risk * Background in construction, engineering, or consultancy * Clear, pragmatic communicator with strategic insight * Comfortable working autonomously across varied teams and disciplines Ideal candidates may come from a Quantity Surveying, claims consultancy, or legal background.
