Our client is a highly respected food manufacturing business with a significant UK presence and an excellent reputation for investing in both its people and facilities. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Production Manager to lead one of their key production teams. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-invested business that offers genuine career development and long-term progression.

The Role

Working on a 4 on 4 off rotating days and nights shift pattern, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of production, ensuring safety, quality, service and operational performance targets are consistently achieved. Leading by example, you will motivate, coach and develop your team while driving a culture of continuous improvement across the operation. Working closely with Engineering, Technical, Planning and Supply Chain, you will ensure production plans are delivered efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop production teams to deliver outstanding performance.
  • Ensure production plans are achieved safely, efficiently and on time.
  • Drive improvements across productivity, waste, quality and labour utilisation.
  • Monitor and report on production KPIs, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Promote a positive food safety, quality and health & safety culture.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Technical, Planning and Supply Chain teams to maximise operational performance.
  • Manage staffing levels, training, succession planning and employee engagement.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, customer and legislative standards.

The Person

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Previous experience as a Production Manager, Shift Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Operations Manager within food manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • A proven track record of improving operational performance and driving continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, hands-on management style with a passion for developing people and delivering results.
