The Role
As Production Team Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a large operational team, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and performance. Working closely with the Department Manager, you'll drive operational excellence through strong leadership, effective people management and a continuous improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop production teams to deliver outstanding performance
- Monitor and drive key operational KPIs, taking action to ensure targets are achieved
- Set performance objectives and implement improvement plans where required
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality and efficiency
- Identify and develop talent through coaching, mentoring and performance management
- Promote colleague engagement, welfare and attendance standards
- Lead daily shift briefings and effectively allocate resources across the operation
- Support cost control initiatives and contribute to operational budget management
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, quality and health & safety standards
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll bring proven leadership experience from a large-scale manufacturing or food production environment and have a passion for developing people and delivering results. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Production Team Manager, Shift Manager, Production Supervisor or similar leadership role
- Experience within food manufacturing or another fast-paced production environment
- A strong track record of leading teams and delivering operational performance
- Excellent communication and people management skills
- The confidence to make decisions and challenge behaviours when required
- Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement capabilities
- Experience managing KPIs, performance targets and operational standards
- An understanding of cost control, budget management and production efficiencies
