Are you an experienced Engineering Shift Manager/Supervisor looking to join a successful and well-invested food manufacturing business? Do you enjoy leading high-performing teams, improving equipment reliability and delivering results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment?
Our client is a highly respected food manufacturer with an excellent reputation for quality, innovation and investing in its people and facilities. They are looking to appoint an Engineering Shift Manager to lead the night engineering team at their West Yorkshire manufacturing site.

The role
You will lead the engineering team on shift, ensuring production equipment runs safely and reliably. Taking a hands-on approach, you will respond to breakdowns, coordinate maintenance priorities and drive improvements that reduce downtime and support production.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, supporting and developing the engineering team.
- Carrying out hands-on fault finding and supporting the response to breakdowns.
- Coordinating planned and reactive maintenance to minimise disruption.
- Improving equipment performance, reliability and asset care.
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety, including investigating incidents and near misses.
- Managing team performance and addressing people matters fairly and effectively.
About you
You will have a Level 3 engineering qualification or equivalent, a strong background in maintenance and fault finding within FMCG manufacturing, and experience leading an engineering team. Food manufacturing experience and an understanding of HACCP would be particularly useful. An 18th Edition qualification would be an advantage.
You will be confident making decisions under pressure, communicating across departments and supporting your team on the factory floor.
