Our client is a highly regarded food manufacturer with a strong reputation for investing in its people and operations. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Shift Manager to lead production during their shift at their busy North West manufacturing site.

The Role
You will take ownership of production performance during your shift, ensuring the production plan is delivered safely, efficiently, on time and to the required quality standards.
Working closely with the wider management team, you will lead and develop your people, coordinate resources and drive improvements across safety, quality, service, cost and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and develop production teams across your shift.
Deliver production plans on time, in full and to specification.
Take ownership of shift KPIs, including OEE, yield, waste, productivity and plan attainment.
Manage labour planning and allocation to meet production requirements.
Manage attendance, performance and engagement, supporting a positive team culture.
Ensure food safety, HACCP, GMP and health and safety standards are consistently maintained.
Drive continuous improvement and support site improvement projects.
Work closely with Engineering to resolve breakdowns and minimise downtime.
Collaborate with Technical, Planning and other departments to maintain efficient production.
Monitor shift performance, resolve operational issues and escalate where required.
Ensure clear shift handovers and accurate production reporting.
Identify training needs and support the development of future team leaders.
The Candidate
We are looking for a confident people manager with experience in food manufacturing, FMCG or another fast-paced production environment.
You will ideally have:
Experience as a Shift Manager, Production Team Manager, Team Leader or Production Supervisor.
The ability to lead teams, coordinate priorities and take responsibility for shift performance.
Strong people management, communication and organisational skills.
Knowledge of HACCP, BRC, hygiene and health and safety standards.
Experience managing production KPIs and delivering measurable improvements.
An understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
A hands-on, positive leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop others.
