The Haul Truck Driver position is responsible for operating Articulated Haul Trucks in a safe and appropriate manner. This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of equipment/trucks. Work will be performed per the supervisor’s instruction, free from direct supervision except for more complicated jobs. The Haul Truck Driver is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and securing his/her Haul Truck.

Essential Functions:

  • Operate trucks to transport and/or stockpile dirt, aggregate, and other materials and/or equipment to various locations on the job site.
  • Use hand-held mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources.
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Help identify hazardous conditions on the job site.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Operate haul trucks in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Clean trucks as scheduled and/or required.
  • Maintain the haul truck and advise supervisor of any requirement for maintenance or repairs.
  • Report any damage immediately to supervisor.
  • Use the haul truck for its intended purpose with little or no assistance.
  • Maintain and turn in daily records of loads hauled.
  • Ensure trucks and equipment are safely and securely stored.

Qualifications:

  • A valid driver license.
  • Must have experience with the following:
    • A45 Volvo Articulation Haul Truck
    • Cat 740 & 745 Articulation Haul Truck
  • Equipment safety.
  • Preferred: High School Diploma or GED.
