6-month temporary contract with the opportunity to become permanent.

Alarm Communications Limited are a leading team of fire protection, commercial security and building management systems specialists, with our Head Office located in Surrey. Our client base is predominantly built of prestigious buildings and landmarks, such as high-end hotels and educational establishments.

We are currently looking to appoint a new Operations Coordinator located at our Head Office in Frimley.

Responsibilities:

  • Look after day-to-day accounting tasks as required in conjunction with the existing team in Finance.
  • Perform day-to-day accounting activities within ACL, working collaboratively with members of the Finance department.
  • Process purchase invoices and expenses, including statement reconciliations.
  • Raise sales invoices, support credit control, and manage the resolution of invoice queries.
  • Conduct credit card analysis, post payments and receipts, and complete reconciliation activities.
  • Support month-end close processes, including reconciling intercompany balances across group companies and ensuring all expected costs are accurately recorded within the accounting system.
  • Prepare financial reports to support an efficient and effective month-end close.
  • Work closely with operational departments to gain an understanding of the service management systems used within the Fire & Security division, including Simpro.
  • Undertake additional finance and administrative duties as delegated by the Financial Controller.

Requirements:

  • Able to demonstrate experience of working in a responsible, wide accounting role in an SME company, ideally in engineering or construction or facilities management.
  • Experience with accounts procedures, sales and purchase ledger.
  • Possess practical understanding of Sage 50, Sage 200 or similar accounting software.
  • Committed, conscientious, self-motivated individual who is prepared to take responsibility and get involved.
  • Good standard of numeracy and ability to work accurately with attention to detail.
  • Able to multitask across different types of accounting-related areas.
  • Good IT/system skills and a good level of competence in Excel.
  • A friendly team player with a flexible, mature approach, a willingness to learn and good self-motivation.
  • Strong organisational & time management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and integrity of the ledgers.
  • A knowledge of DRC VAT and CIS would be an advantage but not essential.
