Alaris Linwave designs and manufactures microwave/RF components and subsystems in a seamless âconcept to finished productâ process. A full test and measurement capability extends to 94GHz and allows our manufacturing team to produce value-added products designed to exceed customer expectations. Linwaveâs design team utilises state-of-the-art microwave simulation tools for circuit modelling and optimisation to provide the robust product solutions our customers demand.
The post of Design/Development Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Group Lead for specific work loading. The role will include the design, development and prototyping of a range of RF and Microwave components and sub-systems for Linwave Technology and its sister companies.
Main Areas Of Focus:
- The design and manufacture of multi-chip modules in both ceramic and LCP QFN packages.
- The design and manufacture of RF and Microwave components and subsystems from UHF to 50GHz.
- Typical components include Power Amplifiers, Oscillators, Mixers, Limiters, Switches and LNAs.
- Typical subsystems include SatCom BUCs, RF over Fiber, Switch Matrices and FMCW radar.
Experience of working on Defense related projects is desirable.
Qualifications and Experience:
The role requires the candidate to be a âHands onâ and âResults Drivenâ Engineer, who will be required to work independently and as part of a team. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of managing and developing technical employees and is able to see projects through from quotation to production. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
The candidate should be proficient with microwave simulation and design tools such as ADS or Microwave Office, mechanical design CAD tools such as AutoCAD or Solidworks, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. Experience using microwave design tools to perform non-linear simulation is desirable. The candidate should be familiar with chip and wire technology as well as SMT on laminate.
EDUCATION: HNC / Degree in relevant subject or 10 years experience.
