My client is a well-established UK Mid-Cap Investment Banking firm with broad, generalist sector coverage. The platform combines highly regarded, non-independent corporate research with a growing capital markets and advisory franchise. As part of its continued expansion across equities and corporate advisory, the firm is seeking an experienced Equity Sales professional to join the team.
This role is suited to a senior salesperson with an established UK institutional client base, particularly across hedge funds and traditional long-only mid/small-cap investors.
Key Responsibilities- Originate, develop and monetise relationships with UK and international institutional investors, with a focus on hedge funds and mid/small-cap long-only accounts.
- Drive distribution of research, corporate access, and capital markets transactions (IPOs, follow-ons, converts) to a sophisticated buyside audience.
- Take ownership of key client accounts, delivering consistent revenue generation and contributing directly to desk P&L.
- Partner closely with corporate broking, research, and ECM teams to effectively position corporate clients and maximise investor engagement.
- Identify and onboard new institutional clients, leveraging existing relationships and proactively expanding the firm’s investor footprint.
- Provide high-quality market feedback, investor intelligence, and trade ideas to internal stakeholders and corporate clients.
- Support and lead investor marketing initiatives, including roadshows, conferences, and targeted client events.
- Minimum 5 years’ Equity Sales experience within a UK equities platform, ideally with exposure to small/mid-cap stocks.
- Demonstrable track record of revenue generation and strong, active relationships with hedge funds and/or UK long-only institutional investors.
- Deep understanding of UK equity markets, corporate broking dynamics, and capital markets processes.
- Proven ability to operate in a client-facing, commercially driven environment with accountability for P&L.
- Strong communication, influencing, and relationship management skills.
- Highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating within a growing platform.
- Established, credible presence with institutional investors.
- Commercially minded with a clear ability to generate and grow revenues.
