Full-Time On-site
A

A highly regarded international investment bank is seeking an experienced M&A Associate to join its growing Financial Services advisory team in London.

The team advises a broad range of public and private-sector clients across specialist lending, consumer and commercial finance, and wider financial-services subsectors. It has an established cross-border franchise, combining deep sector expertise with a strong track record in sell-side, buy-side and capital-raising mandates.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Associate to take on meaningful execution responsibility within a collaborative, entrepreneurial and high-performing platform.

The role

You will work closely with senior bankers and lean deal teams across live transactions, strategic assignments and business-development activity.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Taking a central role in the execution of M&A and capital-raising mandates
  • Building, reviewing and managing detailed financial models, valuation work and transaction analyses
  • Producing marketing materials, pitch books, management presentations and confidential information memoranda
  • Conducting company, sector, competitor and buyer research
  • Managing due-diligence workstreams and coordinating transaction processes
  • Supporting senior bankers with client coverage, idea generation and origination initiatives
  • Reviewing and developing Analyst work, providing day-to-day guidance and quality control
  • Building relationships with clients, investors and other market participants across the financial-services sector

Candidate profile

The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • At least 3 years’ investment-banking, M&A advisory or corporate-finance experience
  • Strong technical skills across financial modelling, valuation and transaction analysis
  • Experience within financial institutions, specialist finance, lending, insurance or related financial-services sectors would be advantageous, but is not essential
  • A demonstrable track record of supporting and executing live M&A transactions
  • Excellent PowerPoint, Excel and presentation skills
  • Strong commercial judgement, attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple workstreams under pressure
  • The confidence and communication skills to work directly with senior colleagues and clients
  • A collaborative approach, high personal standards and genuine interest in building a long-term advisory career

The firm offers exposure to complex, high-profile cross-border mandates; direct interaction with senior bankers; and the chance to develop within a stable, relationship-led advisory environment. The successful hire will join a team with a strong reputation in its sector and genuine scope to take on increasing responsibility over time.
