Due to staff turnover, we have a vacancy in our Maidstone Office for a Graduate Structural Engineer. You would be working in a small, friendly team, handling the Structural aspects of a range of projects, varying from extensions and single properties up to housing estates, schools, industrial estates and more.

Your role will be full-time office-based and will include:

  • Designing in all the primary construction materials: steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber and learning to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the use of these materials for specific projects.
  • Extensive use of AutoCAD & Revit to produce drawings & details.
  • Learning to use a variety of methods of analysis and media, including traditional hand calculations and computer analysis using proprietary software, to solve structural engineering problems.
  • Gaining knowledge of the use and review of appropriate Eurocodes, British Standards and specifications and applying these to the structural design of projects.
  • Liaising with Clients, Contractors, and other professionals.
  • Undertaking site visits to projects during construction.
  • Undertake site visits to appraise existing structures.

Essentials we are looking for:

  • Eagerness to learn more about Structural Engineering.
  • An appropriate Engineering degree to a good standard (2.1 or better).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic use of AutoCAD.
  • MS Office Literate.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • UK Driving Licence.

Useful experience:

  • Previous use of Structural Analysis software.
  • Previous use of AutoCAD.
  • Previous Construction experience.
