Alan Baxter is a leading firm of Structural & Urban Designers and Conservation Specialists. During our 50 years in practice, we have worked on many of the nation’s most important buildings and numerous award-winning projects, including two Stirling Prize winners. Our success comes from our breadth of knowledge, imaginative ideas, and an ability to create valuable holistic and sustainable solutions.
We are 90-strong and based in a single office in Farringdon, which is owned by our founder. The building is shared with around 80 other organisations who all share our interest in the built environment. Our Practice is owned by a Trust, which ensures the strong ethos and principles, that have guided our firm through its first half-century, will continue into the future.
We are seeking a high-calibre assistant to support our Contracts and Practice Manager. The role is wide-ranging, providing support across a variety of functions associated with the smooth running of our firm.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in senior PA or practice management role, and have an ability to provide administrative support to the following functions:
- Company secretary: including arranging and minuting Trustee and Director meetings, monitoring the smooth running of our record keeping and insurance requirements.
- Contracts and legal: including the review of legal contracts and affairs, and the monitoring of the firm’s risk management.
- Practice Management: including supporting the oversight of our administration systems and archives.
- Community: including the review of licences and rents for the tenants of our two buildings in Farringdon.
You will be hard-working, organised and a good communicator. You will have a broad understanding of financial, commercial and legal matters and an interest in developing your ability to provide a supporting role in these areas.
