Site Manager – Construction & Commissioning (UK)
We are looking for an exceptional Site Manager to lead high‑impact site operations for the Grid Solutions team within GE Vernova’s Construction & Commissioning team.
Role Overview
As Site Manager you will oversee technical integrity, safety, and quality of high‑voltage AIS and GIS projects, serving as the primary point of contact between product units and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead field operations, manage daily task allocation, and maximize project success.
- Ensure overall quality and technical integrity of GIS and AIS installation, maintenance, and commissioning.
- Collaborate with product units and clients to resolve product or installation issues.
- Identify, report, and resolve non‑conformities to keep projects on track.
- Promote a culture of safety, comply with regulations such as Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
- Develop accurate records and quality documentation to meet internal governance and safety standards.
- Act as the heart of on‑site operations, fostering teamwork and problem‑solving across the field team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Extensive hands‑on experience in substation primary plant construction and installation, including AIS/GIS equipment.
- Leadership experience in field operations with subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in quality assurance processes and non‑conformity documentation.
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory frameworks, particularly Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
- Excellent communication skills for planning, execution, and reporting of complex projects.
- Formal education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (e. g., City & Guilds, ONC, HND) is preferred but not mandatory; overall experience and achievements are paramount.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the UK, work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required, and spend time away from home for training and field assignments.

This is a permanent, on‑site position at various client locations across the United Kingdom.
