Managing customer equipment, facilities or infrastructure projects: responsible for project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
Roles and Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing the project and direct or indirect leadership and/or management of project resources for small-medium sized projects that may include equipment-only, suites of products, maintenance contracts or turnkey projects.
- Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline.
- Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
- In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.
- In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance.
- Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks.
- Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems.
- May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
- Provides informal guidance to new team members.
- Lead cross-functional project teams across engineering, procurement, logistics, installation, and commissioning.
- Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure project delivery on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, and stakeholders, maintaining high levels of satisfaction.
- Oversee factory, site, and construction activities, ensuring compliance with design, schedule, Quality, and EHS standards.
- Monitor project progress, proactively manage risks, issues, and change orders, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage project budgets, contract administration, and variations, liaising with legal and commercial teams as needed.
- Ensure adherence to GE Vernova processes, safety, integrity, and core values throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support tendering, sales, and lessons-learned processes, contributing to continuous improvement and future project execution.
Qualifications Required
- Experience in managing end-to-end projects.
- Training in engineering, ideally in the electric grid or energy sectors.
- Experience in client relations and stakeholder management.
- Availability for travel during site visits and for other business needs.
- Ability to achieve results under pressure, meet tight deadlines, coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, and manage scope, resources, budgets, and project risks while ensuring high-quality standards.
- Excellent command of English (oral and written) with strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
