We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our Power Transformers area of business. In this role, you will inspect transformer components, ensure compliance with engineering drawings, and support problem resolution in the manufacturing process. You will collaborate with Engineering and other key stakeholders to maintain high-quality standards and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect transformer components (e.g., insulation, copper work, heavy metalwork, bushings, mechanical devices, and current transformers) to engineering drawing standards.
  • Ensure compliance with standard material specifications and work instructions.
  • Conduct problem-solving activities on the shop floor to support manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and other departments to resolve quality issues.
  • Raise and document accurate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and create detailed inspection reports.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Significant experience in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong visual and dimensional inspection skills with the ability to use precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP and Windchill is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HVDC transformers is advantageous.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a proactive mindset.
  • Flexible to work overtime when required.
