GE Vernova is seeking a Project Document Controller & Administrative Assistant to support our Grid Automation business based in Stafford, UK. This role sits at the heart of engineering and project execution activities, providing disciplined document control and administrative support across grid automation projects. Our Grid Automation teams design, test, and deliver control and protection systems for electrical substations and transmission & distribution networks—solutions that support critical infrastructure and the global energy transition.
You will play a central role in ensuring project documentation is accurate, traceable, and delivered in line with quality, governance, and customer requirements, while also supporting day‑to‑day business administration for project teams. This is a full‑time, permanent role with a hybrid working model following an initial onboarding period on site.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and control project documentation in line with internal quality systems and customer requirements.
- Maintain document registers, revision control, and version accuracy for engineering and project documentation.
- Coordinate document submissions to customers and external stakeholders, tracking status through to approval or closure.
- Support project teams with document handovers and milestone deliverables.
- Provide structured administrative support to engineering and project management teams.
- Support business administration activities including timesheets, onboarding documentation, purchase orders, invoices, expense submissions, and internal tracking.
- Prepare and maintain trackers, reports, and action logs to support project visibility.
- Support audits and governance by ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and accessible.
- Assist with internal meetings, training coordination, team events, and occasional travel or logistics support.
- Identify opportunities to simplify and improve document and administrative workflows.
- Previous experience in document control, administration, or project support, ideally within an engineering, manufacturing, construction, or project‑driven environment.
- Proven ability to manage structured documentation, registers, and revision control with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Clear and confident communication skills, including interaction with internal teams and external customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint); familiarity with Microsoft Project is a plus but not required.
- Comfortable working within defined processes, governance, and quality standards.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of outcomes, and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
- HNC/HND or equivalent experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Fluency in English is required.
