The North and South Europe Grid System Integration (GSI) team delivers a wide range of high‑voltage transmission projects, including new generation and grid stability projects. We are looking for a Power Systems Studies Engineer to lead concept studies at the tender stage, develop solutions that satisfy client needs and Grid Code requirements, manage external resources, validate study outputs, and serve as the main technical interface to the client.
Responsibilities
- Tender Stage
- Understand the customer’s power system requirements, regulatory constraints, and standards.
- Develop the initial system architecture and advise the customer on optimisation opportunities.
- Perform provisional load‑flow studies using PowerFactory, DIgSILENT, or similar.
- Conduct provisional RAM studies (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability) to ensure proposed solutions meet client expectations.
- Collaborate with mechanical‑electrical teams to ensure efficient and cost‑effective design.
- Manage third‑party resources to produce detailed studies such as harmonic analysis and validate their work.
- Engage with the customer to present the Power System solution and address queries.
- Project Delivery Stage
- Identify required studies and prepare procurement specifications.
- Work with sourcing to engage consultants for full project studies.
- Set consultants to work, respond to queries, monitor progress, and validate deliverables.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all Power System Studies issues.
- Manage the customer approval process and address comments in a timely manner.
- Ensure alignment between the Power System design and practical project realization.
Requirements
- MSc (or equivalent) in Power Systems Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Over 7 years of experience in electrical studies for high‑voltage transmission systems.
- Strong knowledge of Electrical Load Flow, Equipment Sizing, Reactive Power Management, Short Circuit, Harmonic Management, Availability Studies, and Insulation Coordination.
- Proficiency in power system analysis tools such as PSS®E, PowerFactory DIgSILENT, or PSCAD.
- Competent user of RAM study software such as ReliaSoft - BlockSIM.
- Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.
