We are seeking an Onsite Installation Technician with proven mechanical and electrical installation experience, preferably within the transmission and distribution sector. A solid understanding of industry standards for electrical wiring and mechanical installation is essential to ensure quality and compliance across all projects. You will play a key role in supporting major Grid Automation projects by performing secondary circuit installation operations on-site. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of working on complex energy sector projects, demonstrating a commitment to safety and adherence to best practices throughout all installation activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Close coordination with the site manager and project team to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
- Maintain effective communication channels for seamless project execution.
- Ensure all related site paperwork is accurately maintained and updated.
- Monitor adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensure all necessary equipment and tooling complies with relevant regulations.
- Provide regular updates to site manager regarding project progress, challenges, and resource needs.
Must‑Have Requirements
- Advanced understanding of industry standards for electrical wiring and mechanical installation.
- Proven experience on mechanical and electrical installation within the T&D sector, or similar, typically gained in 4‑5 years of experience.
- Solid ability to understand and fault find the electrical scheme design.
- Proven understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver licence.
Nice‑to‑Have Requirements
- National Grid Person.
- NEBOSH qualification.
- Experience working with the National Grid and large‑scale infrastructure projects.
- First Aid at work qualification.
