Global Engineering Competency Center (GECC) India, with teams in Noida and Chennai, is evolving from an engineering back‑office into a world‑class Global Solutions Center that delivers high quality, scalable, cost‑competitive, and harmonised solutions across all GA regions globally. The GECC Transformation Leader will act as the architect and catalyst of this change, partnering with functional leaders and regional teams to build a scalable, high‑performing, globally trusted Global Solutions Center in India. This senior role combines strategic vision, operational rigor, stakeholder influence, talent growth, and change leadership to implement transformation with measurable business outcomes.

Role context: drive the Global Engineering Centre to define how GE Vernova delivers at scale. GE Vernova's Grid Automation (GA) business is ready to elevate GECC India — with teams in Noida and Chennai — to a new level, evolving from design support to full project engineering ownership and global delivery excellence.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end‑to‑end transformation strategy and execution, owning the full phased transformation roadmap from strategy approval to Global Solutions Centre readiness; drive change management across all levels and advance GECC India from design/configuration support to full project engineering ownership.
  • Build and manage stakeholder alignment: implement a Voice of Customer (VoC) program across GA regions; establish and manage a Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) framework for workload forecasting and rolling commitments; facilitate cross‑regional forums, workshops, and governance reviews to ensure ongoing partnership and executive sponsorship.
  • Drive operational excellence and quality: define and track core KPIs; develop and implement a Quality Framework across regions and GECC; champion AI‑powered process automation and digital engineering tools; push lean, standardised, and automated engineering processes to harmonise workflows.
  • Lead capability building and talent strategy: partner with HR and Talent Acquisition to attract/retain engineering talent; develop capability assessments and ramp‑up plans (training academies, knowledge transfer, induction); establish clear career pathways and progression frameworks; coordinate with the GSW GDC Romania team for leadership coaching and capability benchmarking.
  • Design and support the organisation: evolve a scalable organisational model for GECC India; develop a formal service catalogue with defined scope, change control, and delivery standards; implement structured progress reporting for Steering Committee and Executive Leadership; proactively identify and mitigate transformation risks; provide leadership support as required during the transformation.

Who We’re Looking For

You are a senior transformation and engineering operations leader with a track record of building high‑performing, globally distributed engineering organisations, combining strategic clarity with operational discipline and genuine investment in people.

Required

  • A formal education in Electrical, Electronics, Systems Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience); significant experience in engineering, technology, or operations, with transformation/change management or leadership roles;
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and cross‑functional teams across geographies;
  • Solid understanding of Grid Automation, Power Systems, or Industrial Automation engineering domains;
  • Commitment to developing people and building high‑performing teams;
  • Strong commercial/financial acumen and ability to defend business cases;
  • Experience leading geographically distributed, multicultural teams.

Preferred

  • Experience setting up or scaling a Global Delivery Centre or Engineering Centre of Excellence;
  • Familiarity with Grid Automation products;
  • Knowledge of Lean/Agile and perform‑while‑you‑transform operating principles;
  • Coaching and training expertise;
  • Experience with AI adoption or digital engineering tools in industrial engineering;
  • Understanding of engineering talent dynamics in India;
  • Certifications (PMP, Prosci/ACMP, Lean Six Sigma);
  • Proficiency with KPI dashboards and governance tools.
