AL Solutions is partnering with a leading global organisation within the life sciences sector to recruit an experienced HR Director to lead its UK and Ireland HR function. This is a senior, high-profile leadership position supporting an employee population of approximately 4,000 people across the UK and Ireland. The successful individual will lead an established team of four experienced HR Managers and work closely with senior stakeholders across a complex multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic HR leadership across the UK and Ireland
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of four experienced HR Managers
  • Oversee the delivery of HR support across an employee population of approximately 4,000
  • Manage complex employee relations matters and organisational challenges
  • Lead significant people, change and transformation projects
  • Partner with senior business leaders to support commercial and operational objectives
  • Drive consistent HR processes, standards and best practice across both locations
  • Contribute to the wider regional HR strategy and future leadership succession plans

Candidate Requirements

  • Significant senior-level HR experience within a large multinational organisation
  • Previous responsibility for a large and complex employee population
  • Experience managing and developing an established HR team
  • Strong knowledge of complex employee relations and people matters
  • Demonstrable experience leading organisational change and strategic HR projects
  • Confidence partnering with senior executives and business leaders
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • The ambition and capability to progress into a broader regional HR leadership position

Candidates may currently be operating as an HR Director, Senior HR Manager, Head of HR, or an experienced HR Business Partner with the scale and leadership experience required to step into a broader role. This position offers significant visibility, responsibility and long-term career progression, with the successful candidate viewed as a potential future successor into a wider Senior Director-level EMEA position.
