Let’s paint the future together. The Technical Service Representative will provide technical customer support in shipyards and customer sites for Newbuilding and Maintenance & Repair projects. Also, be the frontline sales support through proficient use of AkzoNobel products and services, as well as a strong working knowledge of application techniques, supporting customers, assisting with product selection, answering application questions, and solving issues via phone, email, or onsite. Position is based in Athens and covers Greece & Cyprus. Key Accountabilities The Job holder will have to protect the interests of AkzoNobel, being careful of the good practice of the applicators’ companies using our Marine and Protective Coatings products. He will attend paint applications and will provide Technical Advice in accordance with International Paint standards in New Building and Maintenance & Repair shipyards and fabrication sites. Maintains allocated technical company equipment in a safe and proper manner. Delivers periodical progress reports, proactively submits information regarding trends within the market, and provides recommendations regarding improvements in the approach to the marketplace. Assists sales department in the implementation of sales strategies and within key phases of the sales process, giving technical expert knowledge to prospects. Promotes the positive company image and develops long-term relations with customers. Advises upper management on training types, recruits participants for relevant technical courses, and gains commitment for customer attendance. Key Activities Delivers training to customers on the use and application of the company products, equipment, and documentation both on-site at the customer’s location and within the training center. Conducts demonstrations of products and transfers knowledge on AkzoNobel processes as well as on technical problem solving to the customer. Performs technical scans and audits at designated customers. Participates with and as peer to allocated sales representatives in key phases of the sales process to prospects. Proactively prevents and solves technical problems occurring at existing customers. Supports testing processes and the implementation of new products and technologies. Updates customer databases with valid, accurate, and complete information using CRM. Cooperates with the technical department in handling complex technical issues and claims, educating customers on solutions. Supports product development with prototype selection advice and test market execution. Experience/Key Competences/Skills Good experience in Marine and Protective Coatings paint industry (New Building and Maintenance & Repair). Good experience in inspection. Good relationship with customers/applicators. FROSIO level III certified and/or NACE 2. Native Greek language. English spoken, read, and written. Good knowledge of Office (Word, Excel) systems. International spirit and culturally aware. Good team worker. Basic knowledge relating to health and safety matters under current Greek legislation. Education Graduate in Naval Architecture / Chemical Engineering or comparable study fields.
