Job Purpose
Your role will be to support the maintenance and development of site safety standards with specific reference to process safety for our coatings manufacturing operation in Felling.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with colleagues across functions to ensure that all process changes are appropriately assessed prior to implementation.
- Prepare & revise the site’s COMAH safety report & any modification reports.
- Support the team with regulatory compliance and the relationship with regulators (HSE and EA).
- Evaluate new process operation/equipment requirements.
- Ensure that engineering projects are designed to guarantee safe & efficient running.
- Provide technical expertise covering functional safety, risk quantification & hazardous area management.
- Identify the process safety implications of any new business through hazard studies & risk assessment.
- Ensure that SOP/HSE rules are applied.
- Investigate process safety incidents.
Job Requirements
- Degree qualified in engineering, chemistry or a related discipline.
- Experience in industry, preferably in process safety or related disciplines.
- Experience in process safety disciplines, e.g. hazard studies (HAZOP), functional safety, ATEX/DSEAR, risk assessment techniques such as LOPA, occupied buildings risk assessment.
- Good understanding of major accident hazards legislation (COMAH/Seveso).
