The Role
We’re looking for a CSU (Commissioning, Start-Up) Officer to support delivery of our Industrial Excellence program. In this role, you will take ownership of commissioning and start-up activities for new capex equipment, ensuring it is fully operational, safe, and ready for production. Acting as a key link between project delivery and operational teams, you’ll ensure equipment is installed correctly, thoroughly tested, and optimised for performance, reliability, and efficiency before final handover. This role would be ideal for someone wanting to gain experience in both a Production environment and Project Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full CSU lifecycle, from Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) through to Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and handover
- Plan and coordinate commissioning activities aligned to project and production timelines
- Work closely with production, engineering, maintenance, planning, and quality teams
- Oversee line testing, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions
- Ensure efficient line design, process flow, and minimal downtime
- Develop and deliver SOPs, training materials, and operator readiness programmes
- Support training and competency sign-off for operators
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to establish procedures and spare parts requirements
- Maintain accurate commissioning documentation and performance records
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance line efficiency, performance, and reliability
- Ensure full compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
About You
- Strong organisational, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of production KPIs and operational workflows
- Confident communicator with the ability to work across multiple teams
- Experience in manufacturing environments, commissioning, start-up, or validation of production or filling lines beneficial but not essential
