Assistant Store Manager – Dumfries, GB

Job Purpose
As a key member of the Dulux Decorating Centre store management team, you will support the Store Manager in increasing sales and market share by building effective partnerships with customers and leading the store sales team to meet performance targets. You will also cover for the Store Manager in their absence.
Part of a full‑time, 40‑hour per week role. Shift availability includes 7am–5pm, Monday‑Friday, and alternate Saturdays 8am–12pm with time off in lieu.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager to deliver a culture of engagement and implement the national engagement plan through action planning.
- Assist in nurturing a high‑performing sales team to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
- Own and manage store standards in line with the DDC Operational Excellence Guide.
- Collaborate with colleagues on P&L ownership, focusing on sales growth while optimising margin, cost efficiency, and protecting against stock or cash losses.
- Cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Help review performance and monitor customer and store trends.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience supervising a store and reviewing people/business performance.
- Understanding the importance of nurturing and inspiring colleagues.
- Comfortable using business systems.
- Commercially astute.
