Regional MRI Modality Manager
The Regional MRI Modality Manager is responsible for operational oversight, quality assurance, technical staff supervision, and development, monitoring, reporting and auditing technical operations across multiple assigned outpatient imaging centers. This role combines leadership and general MRI services with the development, implementation, and ongoing management of research and modality protocol oversight.
In partnership with Quality, the Manager will lead the creation, implementation and ongoing refinement of regional MRI programs, including protocol standardization and quality monitoring. The role will focus on expanding services within MRI, continually cross‑training staff, upskilling technical knowledge of direct reports, and driving strategic growth of research opportunities across the state’s micro‑markets.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality diagnostic imaging services efficiently and professionally, ensuring confidentiality and personalized attention. Regional MRI Managers may actively scan 10‑15% of weekly scheduled hours, with the remaining time spent on administrative duties.
- Maintain visibility and interaction with site personnel, technologists, radiologists, service vendors and support personnel, fostering relationships with referring practices and vendor teams.
- Assist with interviewing candidates for vacant roles, hiring new team members, overseeing performance management, facilitating professional development initiatives, and conducting employee disciplinary actions, including terminations.
- Conduct new hires and annual clinical assessments, as well as performance reviews for team members; maintain good customer relations with referring physicians and engage with the Sales team on concerns.
- Oversee technical staff and equipment performance, maintain safety and readiness standards, collaborate with Quality to deliver safe imaging services at all times, and actively participate in surveys, inspections and accreditation processes.
- Assist with clinical accreditation applications and inspections, ensuring compliance with state license regulations and reducing patient incidents through prompt investigation and reporting of service malfunctions.
- Work with Clinical leadership and Radiologists to ensure protocols are current; consult Radiologists for cases requiring physician intervention and engage Case Managers daily to keep tech workflows in place.
- Participate in site leader daily huddles and weekly staff huddles; host quarterly meetings focusing on education, training, policy updates, volume review, patient satisfaction statistics, and team building.
- Maintain fiscal responsibility related to staffing and forecasting staff:volume ratios; oversee supply spend and ensure fiscally responsible procurement.
- Perform any other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Associate\’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Must hold ARRT(MR) and/or ARMIT registry and state licensure, if applicable.
- Must hold current BLS and ACLS certification.
- Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.
- 5+ years of MRI experience with a focus on research and safety.
- Self‑motivated, encouraging a positive work environment that promotes staff engagement and superior patient care.
- Strong analytical, organizational and multi‑tasking skills; promotes staff skill development and compassionate care delivery.
- Experience with protocol building, scan optimization, and proactive engagement with referring physicians, interpreting radiologists, and patients/families.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs required within the role.
- In‑depth knowledge of MRI safety; focused on expanding clinical research to strategically develop growth initiatives across the market.

- Carry and lift weight; move non‑ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or exam.
