akt is the UK’s national LGBTQ+ youth homelessness charity. Founded in 1989, we operate service centres in London, Manchester and Newcastle and provide support across the UK through our Digital Service. Last year, akt worked with over 1150 vulnerable young people. We exist because of a simple but powerful thought that no young person should have to choose between a safe home and being who they are. Today, young LGBTQ+ people are still at an increased risk of homelessness and are twice as likely to end up hidden homeless than their peers. akt provides support and routes to safe homes so that young people can thrive.
This role sits within akt’s London service centres as part of the London Services team and is supervised by the Director of Services. Other members of the team include London Services Manager, Senior Caseworkers and caseworkers.
