The Bioclimatic Team offers a diverse range of services that support climate-responsive and environmentally conscious design. The team has applied its interdisciplinary expertise to numerous high-profile projects both in the UK and internationally, including in the Middle East. We are currently seeking a Bioclimatic Engineer – Air Quality Specialist to join our growing team.
Your work will concentrate on leading our Air Quality services, with the primary function and duties:
- Dispersion modelling, primarily on ADMS and AMDS-Roads;
- Designing and implementing air quality monitoring plans;
- Liaising with clients, project teams, and local authorities;
- Collation and analysis of data;
- Project management to budget, programme and scope;
- Contributing to fee proposals.
Being part of the Bioclimatic team, you will also be performing other topics of Bioclimatic design, such as wind, overshadowing, daylight access, glare, light pollution, and thermal comfort, supporting design strategies from concept through to detailed design. As you develop professionally, you will have the opportunity to take on increasing levels of responsibility and autonomy. You will also be supported in your path toward chartership for institutes such as through the IMechE.
Required skills:
- Degree in Environmental Engineering, Building Physics, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field;
- Strong communication and report-writing skills;
- Proficient knowledge of ADMS;
- Proven ability to collaborate within interdisciplinary design teams;
- Working knowledge and demonstrable understanding of relevant legislation, policy, technical guidance and industry standards, and best practice related to air quality;
- Understanding of sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, WELL, BREEAM) and climate adaptation strategies;
- Experience in project management, supervision, and quality assurance of air quality assessments to the highest technical standards;
- To be associated or full member of the Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM).
Bonus Skills:
- Understanding and experience of using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for air quality;
- Experience in Air Quality assessments for international projects.
