Job description

School Facilities Assistant

Responsible to: Head of Estates & Grounds

R esponsible for general maintenance tasks and repairs on the external and internal fabric of the school to a high standard, evening security as required.

Hours - negotiable, up to 22.5 hours a week, all year round, 26 days holiday + bank holidays, including some weekend and evening work.

Salary - FTE (£26,704), £13.69 per hour.

Contract - Permanent

Summary of Principal Duties

• General maintenance repair work and refurbishment projects.
• Assess and liaise with Facilities Co-ordinator with reference to stock levels.
• Evening lock up and security checks as required.
• Assist as and when required in the setting up of functions.
• Accept at the Facilities Co-ordinator’s request enrolment on any course that will be essential or beneficial to the development of the department.
• Liaise with the Facilities Co-ordinator with respect to damage, general wear and tear and health and safety matters.
• To develop and maintain good working relationships with the teaching staff and other departments.
• Consistently seek and implement ways of improving the quality and cost effectiveness of the department.
