PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Senior Technical Project Manager role at Akrivia is to take ownership of and lead the end to end delivery of a portfolio of internal and client-focussed projects. Oversee cross functional workstreams, manage stakeholder expectations and ensure timely delivery within scope and to the highest quality standards.

The role will be a key interface between our in-house engineering team and project management office and help drive engineering sprints in service of the projects. The Senior Technical Project Manager will work closely with the Head of Engineering to define sprint goals and oversee the implementation of those goals by the wider team. The technical focus of the role will be to drive the increase in performance & stability of the ingestion of healthcare data from our NHS partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

● Manage a portfolio of projects, define and develop portfolio roadmaps ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.

● Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and refine technical requirements ensuring clarity and feasibility.

● Lead planning and work package refinement sessions.

● Lead on specification development for all technical development projects, coordinating with technical teams to define quality criteria, sign off approach, and timelines.

● Ensure high quality deliverables within agreed scope, budget and timeline.

● Manage and influence client stakeholders and internal teams whilst fostering collaboration and ensuring stakeholder alignment.

● Proactively identify and mitigate risks and dependencies to minimise potential disruption.

● Navigate complex challenges, anticipate blockers and implement effective solutions to maintain project momentum.

● Maintaining excellent communication at all levels, from sub-team to board level providing clear updates on project progress, risks, and recommendations.

● Maintain transparent communication at all levels of the organisation, providing clear updates on progress, risks with any strategic recommendations.

● Implement portfolio reporting to PMO and senior company leadership.

● Provide mentorship where required to other junior TPMs or PMs

● Extensive project management experience with proven experience of managing project portfolios ideally in mixed environments.

● Deep expertise in Agile frameworks with hands on experience of driving Agile adoption and best practices.

● Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, cloud technologies and modern engineering practices.

● Experience with the following technologies:

o Cloud Provider: AWS

o Languages: Python, PHP, Rust & SQL

o Hosting: Kubernetes

o Tooling & Analytics: Airflow, RabbitMQ, Apache Spark, PowerBI

● Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline

● Experience with industry standard tools such as Microsoft products, Jira, confluence, project management tools

● Ability to build strong relationships with diverse teams, manage cross functional dependencies and influence senior stakeholders.

● Exceptional communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

● Excellent analytic skills

● Proven ability to solve problems creatively

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

● 5+ years project management and related experience

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

● Scrum Master certification.

● Experience delivering cross-company change management/process implementation.

● Experience working on Cloud-native products and services.

● Experience working on AI / Machine Learning or Big Data projects.

● Experience/knowledge of AI in healthcare in particular natural language processing.

● Able to use your initiative to work independently, but also as part of a team, and influence the progress and tracking of projects using strong organisational and communication skills.
