As a Senior User Experience Designer, you will play a critical role in shaping end‑to‑end digital experiences, from early concept through to delivery. You will define the structure, logic and flow behind products and platforms, ensuring they are simple, coherent and meaningful for users. Working within an embedded client team, you will help design experiences that support global platforms and product storytelling, balancing user needs, business goals and technical constraints with precision and care. This role is with AKQA, embedded within a client team, and requires onsite collaboration in the client studio three days per week. This is a 6–9 month fixed‑term contract, offered on a hybrid basis.
Role Requirements- Lead the design of intuitive, scalable user experiences across web and digital platforms
- Translate complex requirements into clear user journeys, flows, information architecture and interaction models
- Define and evolve experience frameworks and systems that work consistently across multiple touchpoints
- Apply user‑centred design principles, grounding decisions in research, insight and data
- Plan and conduct user research and usability testing, synthesising findings into actionable design improvements
- Collaborate closely with designers, writers, technologists and product teams to bring ideas to life
- Prototype and iterate quickly, refining solutions through testing and feedback
- Present work with clarity and confidence, articulating the rationale behind decisions
- Contribute to the overall experience vision, ensuring alignment across wider workstreams
- Significant experience in user experience design, ideally within an agency or product environment
- A portfolio demonstrating thoughtful, well‑crafted UX across complex digital products or platforms
- Strong understanding of user‑centred design, service design and interaction design principles
- Experience designing end‑to‑end journeys, from concept through to delivery
- Ability to simplify complex systems into clear, elegant solutions
- Proficiency in modern UX and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma and related platforms)
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams in fast‑paced environments
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence both peers and senior stakeholders
- A systems thinker, able to see both the detail and the bigger picture
- Deeply curious about human behaviour and driven to create meaningful experiences
- Calm, focused and highly organised, even in complex environments
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for the quality of the work
- Collaborative and open, with a desire to elevate both the work and the team
