As a Designer working within the Marketing and PR team, you will create a range of considered and bespoke assets for our channels, ensuring the AKQA brand is expressed consistently and distinctively, from external, in-market channels to internal moments.

The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, an impeccable design aesthetic, a demonstrated understanding of visual storytelling across both short form digital content and longer form narrative formats and exceptional attention to detail.

  • Role Requirements
  • Provide motion and graphic design for a wide range of visual communication, from social assets to presentations and thought leadership materials
  • Explore and propose new ways to express AKQA’s brand, not solely maintain consistency with existing guidelines
  • Responsible for asset management, collation, and archiving
  • Consistently deliver high quality work on time, supporting the wider team to deliver high quality work within required timeframes
  • Generate ideas with senior members of the Creative and Marketing department to tell the story of world-class, innovative ideas
  • Contribute actively to briefs, listening and responding, and clearly communicate ideas and thoughts
  • Work independently with minimal day-to-day creative direction, given the size of the team
  • QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS
  • Proficient in the formal elements of design, including typography, layout, balance, hierarchy, proportion, rhythm, emphasis, and unity
  • Proficient and confident in working in Figma. This includes having an understanding of website design and how a design system works.
  • Proficient and confident in working with Creative Cloud applications.

More specifically be confident in using the design applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design.

Having an understanding of post production for photography using Lightroom.

Plus having a basic understanding of animation/editing in programs such as After Effects and/or Premiere Pro.

This also includes intelligently organising files for design iteration and web production.

  • Create original designs that align to project goals, creative direction, fluid templates, and standards
  • Bring fresh thinking to how the brand is expressed across formats, balancing originality with AKQA’s creative standards
  • Consult with technical disciplines to ensure designs work within given limitations, and files are prepared with all necessary information to support the design intent
  • Be accountable for the quality of all design deliverables, reviewing final work with high attention to detail to ensure layout, images, and typography meet AKQA standards for creative excellence
  • Prepare for creative reviews by outputting optimised files and presentation materials
  • Ability to balance stakeholder expectations with project realities
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility for their work and their teammates
  • Diligent, flexible, resourceful, and independent, with a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, and enthusiasm for learning new things.
