The Delivery team sits at the heart of this work, partnering closely with UX, Creative and Technology to ensure ideas are realised to the highest quality, on time, and to budget.

The Senior Project Manager plays a critical role in leading the strategy, development and execution of product‐focused local marketing campaigns and direct marketing (DM) email communications. This is a senior client‐facing role requiring strong leadership across multidisciplinary teams and complex delivery environments. This role is embedded with one of AKQA's key clients and will require regular on‐site collaboration and office visits to support close partnership, delivery alignment and stakeholder engagement. This position is offered as a 12‐month fixed‐term contract.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the end‐to‐end delivery of digital marketing and DM email campaigns, from initial business brief, discovery and definition, through creative and UX development, technical delivery and QA.
  • Partner closely with UX, Creative and Technical leads to drive innovative ideas and best‐in‐class digital customer experiences.
  • Own programme‐level delivery, ensuring clear governance, timelines, budgets, risks and dependencies are actively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Translate briefs into clear scopes, delivery plans and production approaches that align with client objectives and AKQA standards.
  • Manage and coordinate internal teams across multiple disciplines and locations, as well as a network of external production and quality assurance partners.
  • Provide clear and consistent communication to internal stakeholders and clients, highlighting project status, risks and issues and their impact on the wider programme.
  • Leverage digital analytics and reporting to inform optimisation, performance improvements and data‐driven decision making.
  • Successfully manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast‐paced, time‐sensitive environment.
  • Champion delivery excellence, strong process and attention to detail across all work streams.
QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS
  • Extensive experience managing interactive projects within a digital agency or marketing communications environment.
  • Proven track record of hands‐on leadership across UX, Creative and Technology teams, delivering complex digital campaigns and communications.
  • Strong experience leading programmes and projects with distributed teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
  • Deep understanding of digital data and analytics, with the ability to translate insights into actionable improvements.
  • Highly organised, process‐driven and detail‐oriented, with a logical and structured approach to project management.
  • Comfortable operating at scale within large agencies or complex organisational environments.
  • Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, able to present clearly to all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • PMI or equivalent project management training is a strong plus.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are an asset.
