The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 Β£ per year.
The main purpose of this role will be:
- To ensure all TIG Welding projects are completed in conformance with specifications and set time scales.
- Fabrication and welding of components and sub-assemblies as required in line with planned manufacturing operations to defined quality standards and timescales.
- Complete projects in accordance with planned schedules aligning fabrication and welding workload with machine shop operations.
- Quality Control evaluations. Set up and running of leak checking operations using mass spectrometry equipment, (helium leak detectors) on all chamber vessels.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge or experience of welding and fabrication processes would be beneficial.
- Qualified to BTech/HNC/HND level in a Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing discipline.
- TIG Welding. (Ideally working with stainless steel & Mu metal).
- Established skillset in metal fabrication and welding including the use of precision measuring equipment.
- Able to read specified drawings.
- Comfortable working to deadlines set by lead technician.
- Basic knowledge of turning would be an advantage.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and seek to maintain and improve these standards.
