Our client is an award-winning RIBA-chartered practice. They are looking for a part time Marketing & BD Manager working approximately 25 hours per week on a £60K salary pro rata. The architecture side of the practice is entering an important phase of growth, with a particular focus on the residential sector over the next several years.
The Opportunity
This is a senior strategic role sitting at the intersection of marketing, business development, sector positioning and client engagement. Working within the residential development landscape. The role would suit someone who has already built solid experience within architecture, design, development, planning or the wider built environment. It would also offer the opportunity to diversify into the legal through our expert witness team.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Strategy
- Work with the Board and Directors.
- Monitor market trends.
- Support the development of strategic relationships.
- Maintain visibility of framework opportunities.
- Bids, Frameworks & New Business
- Lead and coordinate framework submissions.
- Develop and maintain high-quality bid collateral.
- Coordinate internal contributions to ensure timely and high-quality submissions.
- Help improve bid processes.
- Marketing & Communications
- Manage the practice’s marketing activity across digital platforms, social media, awards, PR, and editorial content.
- Oversee the production of outward-facing materials.
- Coordinate photography, project storytelling, and thought leadership content.
- Support the ongoing development of the practice website and wider brand presence.
- Expert Witness Promotion & Marketing
- Develop and deliver a dedicated marketing and BD strategy.
- Produce targeted collateral.
- Build and maintain relationships with law firms, barristers’ chambers, and professional bodies.
- Coordinate thought leadership.
- Manage the expert witness team’s digital presence.
- Events & Client Engagement
- Represent the practice at industry events, networking functions, and sector forums.
- Support the planning of client engagement.
- Assist Directors in preparing for presentations.
The Person
Essential
- Experience in a marketing, business development, or communications role within architecture, design, development, planning, or the wider built environment.
- A strong understanding of the residential development sector.
- Experience supporting bids, tenders, framework submissions, or competitive new business activity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities and market trends.
- A strong visual eye.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, PowerPoint or Keynote, and Microsoft Office.
Desirable
- Experience within residential development, Build to Rent, Later Living, affordable housing, or mixed-use sectors.
- Familiarity with public sector procurement and framework structures.
- Experience coordinating PR, events, or external creative consultants.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, bid platforms, or marketing analytics tools.
