Akoni Technologies is working with a public sector client for the implementation of Oracle Fusion Payroll. We are looking for an experienced professional to lead testing and support activities across the full payroll lifecycle. This includes User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Payroll Parallel Runs, and post-go-live Hypercare. The role requires someone familiar with UK Local Government payroll and pensions and comfortable working with internal teams and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage UAT, parallel testing, and Hypercare for Oracle Fusion Payroll.
- Work closely with internal teams and third-party suppliers to ensure smooth testing and support delivery.
- Ensure payroll processes follow UK regulations, including HMRC RTI, Making Tax Digital (MTD), and Local Government pension rules.
- Run and compare payroll results (gross-to-net) between legacy systems and Oracle Fusion.
- Support test planning, execution, and issue tracking using Jira or similar tools.
- Provide flexible support, including availability outside standard hours during key stages.
- Replace any underperforming or unavailable team members within five working days, as per the contract.
- Make sure all testing and support meet the standards set by the Government Digital and Data (DDaT) Capability Framework.
- Maintain alignment with the council’s values and ways of working.
- Support integration checks between Payroll and other Oracle modules like Time & Labour and Financials.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering Oracle Fusion Payroll testing and support in UK Local Government.
- Solid understanding of UK payroll and pension rules.
- Hands-on expertise with Oracle Fusion HCM – especially Payroll, Time and Labour, and related finance modules.
- Experience with parallel run testing and payroll reconciliation.
- Good working knowledge of Jira or similar tools for managing testing and defects.
- ISTQB Foundation Certified.
- Able to lead testing teams and support knowledge handover to internal staff.
