An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Data & Analytics leader to join a well-established, multi-site organisation undergoing continued investment in its data capability. This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys leading technical teams, driving best practice, and shaping data strategy rather than being solely hands-on. Approximately 70% of the position is focused on leadership, governance, stakeholder engagement, documentation management, and continuous improvement, with the remainder providing technical oversight and direction across data and analytics initiatives.

Working closely with senior leadership, you'll be responsible for building scalable, reliable, and business-focused data solutions while developing the processes, standards, and methodologies that underpin a high-performing data function.

The Role

You'll act as the technical and operational lead for the Data & Analytics team, overseeing the delivery of reporting, data engineering, automation, and analytics projects that support strategic business decision-making.

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of analysts and technical specialists.
  • Owning and maintaining documentation, governance frameworks, technical standards, and best practices.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to optimise processes, automate manual activities, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Establishing and refining methodologies, development frameworks, and ways of working across the data function.
  • Leading technical decision-making and solution design while ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation to translate business requirements into effective data-driven solutions.
  • Overseeing data architecture, integration processes, and enterprise data modelling.
  • Ensuring data quality, governance, compliance, and reporting standards are consistently maintained.
  • Managing the roadmap for data and analytics platforms and evaluating emerging technologies and innovation opportunities.
  • Supporting project planning, delivery oversight, resource prioritisation, and technical governance.

About You

We're looking for an experienced data professional who has successfully moved into leadership and is passionate about developing teams, improving processes, and driving organisational data maturity.

You'll likely bring:

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience leading Data, BI, Analytics, or Data Engineering teams.
  • Strong background in Business Intelligence and analytics solution delivery.
  • Advanced experience with Power BI and reporting platforms.
  • Strong SQL and database expertise.
  • Experience designing and maintaining enterprise data models and data solutions.
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and governance principles.
  • Experience delivering technical projects and managing stakeholders across varying levels of seniority.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, or similar cloud-based data platforms.
  • Experience with automation, Python, or advanced analytics environments.
  • Knowledge of AI-enabled analytics and modern data practices.
  • Microsoft certifications or equivalent professional qualifications.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a growing data function where you can genuinely influence strategy, shape technical standards, and drive meaningful improvements across people, processes, and technology. You'll join an organisation that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement while offering a supportive environment for personal and professional growth.
