Location: Jersey / Hybrid

Contract: September 2026 - January 2027

Working Arrangement: Hybrid - regular on-site attendance in Jersey will be required.

I'm supporting a large public-sector healthcare organisation in Jersey that is strengthening its Digital Health function with additional interim service transition and application support capability. The wider technology estate is supporting a number of critical digital programmes alongside significant operational demand and a backlog of technical work. This role will help ensure new and changed applications are transitioned safely and effectively into operational support, with the right support models, documentation, ownership and readiness in place. This is not a conventional application support role. The focus is on service transition, operational readiness and establishing sustainable support arrangements for applications moving from project delivery into BAU.

The Role:

  • Supporting the transition of new and changed applications into operational support
  • Assessing and coordinating operational readiness prior to go-live
  • Developing and implementing application support models
  • Defining support ownership, escalation routes and operational responsibilities
  • Supporting service acceptance and transition into BAU
  • Producing and maintaining support documentation, operational procedures and knowledge material
  • Coordinating knowledge transfer between project, technical, supplier and support teams
  • Working with internal teams and third-party suppliers to resolve transition and support issues
  • Supporting application lifecycle management and ongoing operational stability
  • Identifying gaps in support readiness and ensuring appropriate actions are completed prior to transition
  • Engaging with users and stakeholders to ensure support arrangements meet operational requirements
  • Contributing to continuous improvement across service transition and application support processes

Essential Experience Required:

  • Demonstrable experience in service transition and/or service introduction
  • Strong understanding of ITIL, IT operations and application lifecycle management
  • Experience transitioning applications from project delivery into live operational support
  • Operational readiness and service acceptance experience
  • Experience developing application support models
  • Strong application support knowledge
  • Experience producing support documentation, runbooks and knowledge-management material
  • Strong stakeholder, supplier and user engagement skills
  • Experience coordinating multiple technical and operational teams
  • Strong understanding of RAID, transition risks and operational dependencies
  • Ability to work effectively across project, technical and BAU support environments

Working Arrangement: The assignment is hybrid and will require regular on-site attendance in Jersey alongside Digital Health and wider technical teams. Candidates do not necessarily need to be based on the island, but must be comfortable with the travel commitment associated with working on-site throughout the engagement. The initial contract is expected to run from 1 September 2026 through to January 2027.

If you have strong service transition experience and a track record of taking applications successfully from project delivery into stable operational support, I’d be interested in speaking with you.

How to prepare for a job interview at Akkodis

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
