We are currently hiring for a Senior Design Engineer to join a growing aerospace engineering team in Gloucester. This role will involve the design and development of landing gear systems across the full product lifecycle, supporting aerospace programmes. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver robust, compliant and manufacturable engineering solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Support landing gear design activities from concept through to detailed design and in-service support
- Produce and modify 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings
- Work with modern engineering tools and data management systems
- Support configuration management activities
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to reduce non-conformances and improve product performance
- Interface with programme management, chief engineers and wider engineering teams
- Deliver technical presentations and support stakeholder engagement
- Mentor junior engineers and support technical development within the team
Required experience:
- Mechanical design engineering background within aerospace or highly regulated industries
- Experience with full product lifecycle engineering
- Strong CAD experience, ideally CATIA V5
- Knowledge of manufacturing and engineering processes
- Experience producing detailed engineering drawings and 3D models
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Education:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related Engineering discipline
