Required Experience

  • ~1–3 years of experience (internships included) in aerodynamics, CFD, or related aerospace engineering fields.
  • ~Academic or professional exposure to subsonic and transonic aerodynamics.
  • ~Initial hands-on experience with at least one CFD or meshing tool.
  • ~Experience writing technical or academic reports involving data analysis.

Technical Skills

  • Fluid Dynamics
  • Solid understanding of subsonic and basic transonic flows.
  • Understanding of aerodynamic coefficients (Cp, Cl, Cd, Cm) and their physical meaning.
  • Basic knowledge of drag components and flow separation.
  • Introductory knowledge of turbulence models, Y+, and CFD fundamentals.
  • Basic awareness of compressibility effects and shock waves.
  • Aeronautics
    • Understanding of how aerodynamic loads affect aircraft performance.
    • Basic knowledge of flight mechanics (control surfaces, wing geometry, stability surfaces).
    • Familiarity with standard aeronautical terminology (MAC, chord, span, HTP, VTP, etc.).
    • Introductory understanding of propulsion concepts (bypass ratio, pressure ratio).
  • Meshing & Simulation
    • Basic understanding of mesh refinement strategies and local cell sizing.
    • Exposure to at least one meshing tool.
  • IT & Data Handling
    • Basic Python for data analysis.
    • Basic Bash/Shell scripting.
    • Ability to post-process and visualize data effectively.
  • Analytical Ability
    • Ability to connect theoretical definitions to physical results (e.g., identify drag sources directly from CFD results).
    • Capability to correlate multiple datasets and extract meaningful conclusions.

    Required Education

    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with specialization in fluid dynamics or aerodynamics.
