Manager
Location: Cheadle or Crawley Working arrangement: Hybrid working Akkodis is recruiting for a mid to senior level, hands-on electronics engineer to support the design, integration and verification of electronic hardware for complex naval defence systems.
You will translate system requirements into practical hardware solutions, integrating electronics, power supplies, communications equipment, cabling and custom PCBs within rack-based systems.

Design and integrate PCBs, power supplies, cabling, connectors and communications equipment.
Support the development of 19-inch racks and cabinets for naval platforms.
Produce schematics, drawings, bills of materials, test plans and technical documentation.
Define verification methods and provide evidence that requirements have been met.
Support EMC, vibration, shock, temperature and environmental qualification testing.
Investigate hardware faults and manage design changes and obsolescence issues.
Work closely with systems, mechanical, manufacturing, procurement and project teams.
Support prototype manufacture, integration, installation and trials.
Maintain requirements and progress using tools such as IBM DOORS and Jira.
Required Experience Strong electronic or electrical hardware design experience.
Analogue and digital circuit design.
PCB design, development and integration.
Power supplies and power-distribution systems.
Cable assemblies, wiring harnesses and connectors.
Hardware integration within racks, cabinets or complex equipment.
EMC, environmental and regulatory compliance testing.
Hardware verification, qualification and fault investigation.
Experience producing specifications, drawings, bills of materials and test documentation.
Experience within defence, aerospace, naval or another highly regulated industry.
Experience with UKCA/CE compliance, Ro HS, REACH, DOORS, Jira and naval equipment would be advantageous.
