Project Support Office – Stevenage

As a Project Support Officer, you will contribute to the successful delivery of strategic programmes by supporting project managers, the PMO Lead, and crossfunctional teams. You will play a key role in ensuring effective project governance, maintaining best practices, and supporting the ongoing development of the CoE to drive efficiencies across current and future projects. Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and coordination support to ensure the smooth running of project activities.
  • Work closely with the PMO Lead and the PMO team to maintain project governance standards and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including reports, plans, and presentations.
  • Maintain project trackers and dashboards to monitor progress against milestones and deliverables.
  • Schedule and organise meetings, workshops, and other project-related events, ensuring accurate records of discussions and actions.
  • Support communication and stakeholder engagement efforts, including drafting updates and coordinating feedback.
  • Help identify and escalate potential risks or issues to the project manager and PMO Lead.
  • Coordinate with team members and external partners to ensure alignment and timely delivery of tasks.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of schedule updates
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with project governance processes and standards.

Required Experience:

  • Previous experience in a project support, coordination, or administrative role.
  • Exposure to working within a technical, digital, or data-driven environment is advantageous.
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with stakeholder engagement and communication processes.

Required Skills:

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Trello, or equivalent.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
