Role
As a NISTA (National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority) Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting Akkodis in preparing for our upcoming NISTA audit. This includes reviewing and refining our internal structures, aligning quality processes with NISTA standards, and helping define and implement relevant policies. You’ll act as a key liaison between internal teams and stakeholders, guiding them through compliance requirements and driving best practices to ensure audit readiness.
You’ll work both independently and collaboratively across functions to influence continuous improvement, helping embed NISTA-aligned governance and assurance processes into the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Support the business in aligning with NISTA requirements and audit readiness.
- Review and assess existing policies, procedures, and quality management frameworks.
- Recommend and support the implementation of updated governance and compliance structures.
- Provide subject matter expertise on NISTA compliance, frameworks, and expectations.
- Facilitate internal workshops and consultations to improve awareness and adherence.
- Identify gaps in current processes and lead initiatives to address them.
- Work with key business units to ensure proper documentation and controls are in place.
- Assist in defining quality standards and KPIs relevant to infrastructure and service transformation.
- Collaborate with internal audit and assurance teams to test readiness and close gaps.
- Stay updated on NISTA guidelines, government policy changes, and industry best practices.
Required Experience
- Proven experience in compliance, governance, or regulatory readiness—preferably related to government or national infrastructure frameworks.
- Prior involvement in preparing for audits or accreditations, especially within public sector or defence domains.
- Deep understanding of UK Government quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with ISO, ITIL, or similar frameworks is beneficial.
- Experience working cross-functionally to drive policy alignment and quality improvements.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of national infrastructure governance and quality frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing, and facilitation skills.
- High attention to detail, with strong documentation and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and work across a matrix organisation.
- Confidence in communicating complex compliance topics in an accessible way.
Required Education
- NISTA framework familiarity or direct exposure
- Degree in a relevant field such as Public Administration, Compliance, Quality Management, or Information Governance.
- Certifications in Quality, Compliance, or Audit (e.g. ISO Lead Auditor, CQI, ITIL, or similar) are advantageous.
