Requirements

  • Experience within Production IT, Manufacturing IT, MES or a similar industrial technology environment
  • Previous team leadership, supervisory or line management experience
  • Good understanding of production systems, shopfloor applications and systems integration
  • Experience managing workloads, priorities, incidents and technical escalations
  • Ability to coach, develop and empower technical team members
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge
  • Calm and practical approach when dealing with competing priorities
  • Relevant technical qualification, degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with SAP integrations or LabVIEW would be useful, but is not essential

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Production IT Engineers
  • Manage priorities, workloads and team coverage
  • Hold regular one-to-ones and support development and performance
  • Coordinate incident resolution and remove blockers affecting delivery
  • Act as a technical adviser when required
  • Maintain stable and reliable production systems
  • Raise risks before they become larger operational problems
  • Bring together different teams and priorities across Production, Engineering, Quality, MES and central IT
  • Explain technical issues in plain English and keep stakeholders informed
  • Make confident decisions within agreed operational parameters

We are an established manufacturing business investing heavily in our sites, systems and internal technology capability. Our Production IT function has grown considerably over the past few years, and we are now looking for an experienced Manufacturing IT Team Leader to take ownership of the day-to-day management of the team. This is a genuine leadership role in a fast-moving manufacturing environment with plenty of investment and change ahead. The role is based near Derby, on site five days per week, with occasional early starts or planned weekend support where needed.

We offer a salary of up to £65,000 plus 25 days holiday and bank holidays, bonus opportunities, a strong pension scheme, death in service cover, and subsidised private healthcare.
