I am looking for a Head of Technology Operations to join a growing UK‑based organisation at a critical stage of development. This is a senior leadership role, reporting directly to the Board, with responsibility for ensuring that technology systems, infrastructure, and governance effectively support business growth, operational efficiency, and security.
The successful candidate will provide strategic direction and hands‑on leadership across IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data management, and supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop the Technology / IT function, providing clear direction and accountability
- Define and deliver the organisation's technology and IT operations strategy
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Board, presenting technology risks, opportunities, and investment cases
- Drive continuous improvement through the adoption of appropriate technologies
- Oversee day‑to‑day IT operations, ensuring systems are reliable, scalable, and fit for purpose
- Maintain and improve performance, availability, and resilience of infrastructure, networks, applications, and data platforms
- Ensure effective patching, backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
- Establish, maintain, and enforce cybersecurity and data protection policies
- Ensure robust security controls and compliance with relevant regulatory and governance requirements
- Proactively manage cyber risk and respond to emerging threats
- Manage third‑party technology suppliers, contracts, and service level agreements
- Ensure value for money and service quality from external partners
- Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across the business
- Proven experience in a senior IT or technology leadership role
- Strong background in IT operations, infrastructure, and data management
- Demonstrable experience leading and developing technical teams
- In‑depth understanding of modern information systems, databases, and enterprise technologies
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging at Board level
