This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on real‑time messaging infrastructure, low‑latency trading systems, and middleware platform support within a mission‑critical production environment. You will be responsible for the support, optimisation, and evolution of a large‑scale Solace PubSub+ messaging environment that underpins electronic trading and market data distribution platforms. Working closely with trading technology, infrastructure, and application teams, you will help ensure platform stability, performance, scalability, and operational resilience across global trading systems.
Key Responsibilities- Administer and support enterprise Solace PubSub+ messaging infrastructure
- Design and optimise messaging patterns for low‑latency trading applications
- Configure and manage queues, topics, VPNs, HA/DR environments, and routing
- Support real‑time market data and trade execution flows
- Troubleshoot complex messaging and performance issues in production
- Implement monitoring and alerting using tools such as Geneos, Corvil, or Splunk
- Work closely with development and infrastructure teams on onboarding and integration projects
- Drive automation and operational improvements using Python, Shell scripting, or SQL
- Participate in incident management, change management, and on‑call support rotations
- Strong hands‑on experience with Solace PubSub+
- Background supporting electronic trading or capital markets infrastructure
- Knowledge of messaging technologies such as Tibco RV, MQ, Kafka, or multicast messaging
- Strong troubleshooting skills across middleware, networking, and application layers
- Scripting/automation experience with Python or Shell
- Understanding of trading workflows, market data, and real‑time messaging systems
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Geneos, Corvil, Splunk, or similar
- Experience working within ITIL / production support environments
- FX or Fixed Income trading systems exposure
- FIX protocol knowledge
- Solace certifications
- Experience with cloud/container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes)
